About brand

A branding and space design project focused on refining Bhagat Tarachand’s visual identity and in-store experience, blending its traditional legacy with a modern, cohesive, and customer-centric design approach.®

What is Bhagat tarachand

Bhagat Tarachand is a well-known Indian vegetarian restaurant brand, deeply rooted in tradition and authenticity. The brand is recognised for its consistent taste, generous portions, and trusted legacy across generations. The objective was not to reinvent the brand, but to refine and elevate its visual and spatial identity to match contemporary dining expectations while respecting its heritage.

Design Process

My approach focused on balancing tradition with modernity retaining the brand’s cultural essence while introducing a cleaner, more premium, and structured visual language that enhances trust, clarity, and dining comfort.

The process began with an in-depth understanding of Bhagat Tarachand’s legacy, customer base, menu culture, and operational flow. I studied customer movement, seating behaviour, service points, and waiting areas to identify experience gaps within the space.

Parallelly, I analysed the existing brand perception and visual inconsistencies across touchpoints. Based on this research, I developed a design direction rooted in Indian warmth, simplicity, and functionality. Materials, colours, typography, and graphic elements were carefully selected to complement the food experience without overpowering it. The spatial layout, wall graphics, signage, and branding elements were designed to create a seamless and intuitive journey for customers.

Solution

The solution was a cohesive branding and space design system that translated Bhagat Tarachand’s values into a modern physical experience. This included refined visual branding, culturally inspired yet minimal wall graphics

Result

A unified, contemporary restaurant identity that enhanced customer experience while staying true to Bhagat Tarachand’s traditional roots.

The redesigned branding and space helped Bhagat Tarachand present a more organised, premium, and customer-friendly environment. The improved visual consistency strengthened brand recall, while the thoughtful spatial planning enhanced comfort, clarity, and overall dining experience. The project successfully bridged tradition and modern design, allowing the brand to connect with both loyal customers and a newer, design-aware audience—without losing its original soul.
